1. Introduction

DripChat ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Rowix LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the DripChat mobile application (the "App"). By using DripChat, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Phone number, display name, profile photo, and username you provide during registration.
  • Messages & Content: Text messages, photos, videos, voice messages, GIFs, stickers, and files you send through the App. Messages are stored on Firebase servers to enable delivery.
  • Usage Data: App interactions, features used, timestamps, device information (model, OS version), and crash reports to improve app stability.
  • Contacts: With your permission, we access your device contacts to help you find friends on DripChat. Contact data is used solely for matching and is not stored on our servers beyond what is necessary for this feature.
  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and push notification tokens for delivering notifications.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App
  • Send and deliver messages between users
  • Enable features such as voice messages, streaks, DripShare, group chats, and message reactions
  • Send push notifications for new messages and updates
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, and fraud
  • Improve and personalize your experience
  • Respond to bug reports and support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Storage), which provides industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Firebase (Google): For authentication, data storage, push notifications, and analytics.
  • Tenor (Google): To provide GIF search functionality. Search queries are sent to Tenor's API.
  • Cloudflare: For content delivery and link preview generation.

We may also disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DripChat, our users, or others.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and messages for as long as your account is active. DripShare content automatically expires and is deleted after 24 hours. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Bug reports may be retained for up to 12 months for quality improvement purposes.

Live location & Google Maps

When you choose live location, Google receives location data for maps, routes, traffic and navigation. Review the live-location supplement for sharing controls and data handling.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access and update your personal information through the App settings
  • Delete your account and associated data (Settings > App Settings > Delete Account)
  • Opt out of push notifications through your device settings
  • Block other users to prevent them from contacting you
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

For California residents, under the CCPA you have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).

8. Children's Privacy

DripChat is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
